Project Spotlight: Custom Camouflage Garage Floor Coating for the Rinehimer Family in Meridian, Idaho

We recently completed a unique garage floor coating project for the Rinehimer family, who wanted something a little more adventurous for their new 20'x60' shop in Meridian, Idaho. As an avid outdoorsman, Mr. Rinehimer was looking for a garage floor that could stand up to heavy-duty use and rough weather gear, with a design that fit his outdoor lifestyle. He reached out to Spray 'n Coat Painting for a durable alternative to traditional epoxy that would offer excellent slip resistance along with a custom touch.
Here’s What We Did:
- Custom Color Consultation: To match the Rinehimer family’s love for the outdoors, we worked closely with Mr. Rinehimer to design a custom camouflage hybrid chip blend, bringing a bit of rugged style to his shop floor.
- Surface Prep and Grinding: Our team meticulously prepped the shop floor by grinding and cleaning it to create an optimal surface for bonding, ensuring long-lasting durability.
- High-Performance Garage Floor Coating: We installed our slip-resistant, industrial-grade floor coating, which is specifically designed for tough environments like Mr. Rinehimer’s shop. Unlike standard epoxy, our coating provides extra strength, scratch resistance, and easy maintenance, giving him peace of mind with every project he tackles.
- Final Sealing and Topcoat: To lock in the custom camouflage look, we applied a protective topcoat that enhances the floor’s resilience while making it easy to clean and maintain.

This airplane hangar’s epoxy floor didn’t hold up, and it’s peeling away because of poor adhesion—one of the most common reasons coatings fail. That’s why at Spray ’n Coat Painting, we focus on proper surface prep before applying any new coating.
We start by grinding the entire floor with a diamond plate grinder, which removes the failed coating and opens up the concrete surface.
