Project Spotlight: Extending Durability for Idaho Power’s Metal Handrails in New Plymouth
At Spray ’n Coat Painting, we recently partnered with Idaho Power on a project to ensure long-lasting protection for the metal handrails around their backup generator in New Plymouth. These handrails, exposed to Idaho’s changing seasons, needed more than a basic coat of paint—our aim was to provide a solution that could stand up to rust and weathering for years. The project’s focus? To keep Idaho Power’s site looking great and protected.
Here’s What We Did:
- Thorough Preparation: We started by sanding down the metal handrails to remove the existing rust, an essential step to ensure the new finish would adhere properly and last.
- High-Performance Priming: We applied a rust-resistant primer specially designed for outdoor metal surfaces to create a solid base.
- Durable Topcoat Application: To seal it all in, we added two topcoats of a high-performance acrylic finish for extra durability, helping to resist weather and wear for 10-15 years.
Long-Lasting Results
With these extra preparation and protective measures, these handrails are set for many years of reliable use, making this a cost-effective, high-value solution for Idaho Power. At Spray ’n Coat Painting, we take pride in delivering top-quality commercial exterior painting that stands up to the elements and looks great over time.
